Zotero has announced it develops a standalone version of its software that can be used together with other web browsers such as Google Chrome or MS Internet Explorer. This is still a developers‘ version, and the Firefox add-on will remain the primary version of Zotero for still some time to come. However, this move seems to be inspired by the Mendeley Desktop system which already shares some, yet not all features Zotero also has integrated lately, most prominently, the web-based hosting of bibliogaraphic data and social networking tools.

hi, maybe you would like our software „SciPlore MindMapping“ http://www.sciplore.org/software/sciplore_mindmapping/ which combines PDF management (including bookmark import) and mind mapping with your existing reference management software (e.g. JabRef/BibTeX, Mendeley and to some extent Zotero). on our website is also a video which gives a short demonstration.
Thx. I’ve posted your demo video on the TeX & Friends fan page on Facebook.
